Lagoon planning sessions and summary of data
Lagoon planning sessions were kicked off with an online survey to the community in summer of 2017. 301 constituents responded to several questions regarding use of lagoon, issues that they would like to see addressed, what features they enjoy, what features it is lacking, etc. As a result of the online survey responses HPF Lagoon Committee identified three focus areas to address at the listening session held @ St. Augustine in late fall of 2017. Focus Areas: Water quality, Wildlife and Nature, People and Recreation. The three hour listening session broke into small groups that delved into the nitty gritty details within each category. A large map of the park and lagoon was provided to each group to catalogue ideas and concepts that visually could depict new features and other suggestions.
The Lagoon Committee has reviewed the public input. Currently, we are working to consolidate and catalogue the raw data to interpret the direction the public would like the committee to prioritize our efforts. Follow HPF Facebook to see the raw data summary when completed.
Stay tuned for a spring listening session to formalize a restoration plan based off the online survey and 1st listening session.
